Senator Grassley Visits H1N1 Vaccination Clinic
January 22, 2010
On January 17, Curtis W. Dickson, M.Ed., Health Director, Linn County Public Health, welcomed US Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) to an H1N1 Mass Vaccination Clinic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. During the visit, Dickson expressed appreciation for the 2009 supplemental funding provided by Congress for the H1N1 influenza response, which helped Linn County undertake their mass vaccination and education effort.
Dickson estimated that Linn County Public Health has reached 45% of the county’s residents with vaccinations and vaccine distributed to health care providers.“I’ve met with Iowans in every county, every year I’ve represented Iowa in the United States Senate,” Grassley said. “Events like these allow me to have an open and honest dialogue that provides greater input directly from Iowans so I can better serve them in the U.S. Senate.”
