The 14th Annual Ned E. Baker Lecture in Public Health
Bowling Green State University, OH and Online via Webinar
Dates:
4/4/2013 4:00 PM 5:30 PM
This annual lecture, named in honor of NALBOH co-founder and first President Ned E. Baker, highlights and celebrates the important role boards of health play in improving the health of communities across the nation. NALBOH is proud to be a partner in this series, which is also sponsored by the College of Health and Human Services at Bowling Green State University, the Cove Charitable Trust of Boston, and the Wood County (OH) Hospital Foundation. The series is available by webcast to more than 3,000 local boards of health throughout the nation. These annual public health lectures provide local boards of health with an opportunity to celebrate National Public Health Week locally and link with other boards throughout the country. This year's lecture, Leading the Way to Healthier Communities: How Leadership Can Strengthen Public Health, will focus on the role of governance in leadership, the relationship between individual perspectives and organizational priorities, and the commitment to creating a culture of quality improvement. Participants will explore the dynamic characteristics of leadership and learn how board of health members, public health professionals, elected officials, and community members can exhibit leadership that improves the health of communities.
