Local health departments (LHDs) in the United States are challenged daily to provide for and protect the health of the people living here. In order to protect our communities, LHDs need a national voice. NACCHO is that voice.

NACCHO supports efforts that protect and improve the health of all people and all communities by promoting national policy, developing resources and programs, seeking health equity, and supporting effective local public health practice and systems.

Model Practice Awardees Announced!

Since 2003, the National Association of County and City Health Official's (NACCHO) Model Practice Awards program has honored initiatives—including programs, resources, and tools—that demonstrate how local health departments and their community partners can effectively collaborate to address local public health concerns.

NACCHO is pleased to honor this year's recipients of Model Practice and Promising Practice awards, which will now be apart of the online, searchable database. Selected from a group of 93 applications, 24 public health programs were selected as "model," and 47 public health programs were selected as "promising". LHD Membership
LHDs may join NACCHO in this category. While membership is for the agency, membership benefits extend to all staff.

Affiliate Membership
Individuals and organizations not associated with a LHD may join NACCHO in this category. Affiliate membership is subject to NACCHO approval.
