An effective public health emergency response plan should be informed by a hazard analysis of threats (e.g. chemical/nuclear facilities, hurricanes, floods) and unique jurisdictional characteristics/vulnerabilities that may affect a public health response to an emergency event.
This document is an example of a hazard vulnerability analysis, developed by Pima County, AZ, in 2010. The analysis includes a table rating the probability of each potential hazard, the risk it poses, and the health department's level of preparedness.
This analysis was submitted as part of 2010 Project Public Health Ready application and can be used as an example by future applicants.
