Healthy Neighborhood Stores


The Douglas County Health Department tracked data on heart disease, diabetes and other health issues in our community, pinpointed the areas at greatest risk – local “food deserts” – where healthy, affordable fresh food options were scarce, and identified eight stores to participate in the Healthy Neighborhood Stores program.
