NACCHO is proud to present a two-part webinar series titled, "Build a Higher Performing,  Evidence-Based Public Health Agency."

Part I: "Promote an Evidence-Based Culture in Your Public Health Agency"

Speakers include Ross Brownson, Jonathan Fielding, and Bob
Harmon. Participants will learn:

  • What evidence-based public health is, Why it matters, and What is new;
  • What makes "The Guide to Community Preventive Service" a credible resource for; evidence-based decision-making and how it may be used to establish goals and identify effective strategies; and
  • How practitioners have used evidence-based practices in their agencies'' leadership,
    strategic planning, budgeting, and performance measurement.

Part II: "Translating Evidence-Based Practice into Programs and Policies that Work for Your
Community"

Speakers include Ross Brownson,
Steven Teutsch, Bob Harmon, and Charlotte Burke. Participants will learn:

  • The key tenets of evidence-based public health and where to find credible evidence-based recommendations;
  • The challenges of selecting and implementing the right strategies for your community;
  • How to estimate costs and adapt a strategy without undermining its effectiveness; and
  • Issues to consider when the scientific evidence is limited or equivocal.
