Demonstration and Technical Assistance Project

Drawing on the experiences of the local health departments participating its technical and demonstration site project, the Health and Disability Project compiled a tip sheet entitled, "Tips and Strategies for Successful Integration of People with Disabilities into Local Public Health Promotion Programs." 2009 - 2010 Demonstration and Technical Assistance Sites

In 2009 and 2010 NACCHO offered technical assistance (TA) to seven local health departments to enhance and improve their capacity to develop health promotion programs for people living with disabilities through coordination of existing health department and community services.

2007 - 2008 Demonstration and Technical Assistance Sites

Demonstration Sites
NACCHO, with guidance and funding from the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities of CDC, identified and awarded five demonstration sites between 2005–2008 to improve their capacities in addressing the health and well-being of individuals with disabilities.

Technical Assistance Project (TA Sites)
NACCHO offered technical assistance in 2007–2008 to support to local health departments to improve their capacity to develop or enhance health promotion programs for people living with disabilities through coordination of existing health department and community services.
