The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a community-based, civilian volunteer program that helps build the public health infrastructure of communities nationwide. Each MRC unit is organized and trained to address a wide range of challenges from public health education to disaster response.

 
 
In the Spotlight

NACCHO is pleased to announce the launch of the 2013 Medical Reserve Corps Network Profile. All MRC unit leaders will receive their invitation to participate (via e-mail) on April 1, 2013. This study will provide a national-level view of the MRC network, with critical information on processes, activities and successes.Please take advantage of this opportunity to provide your input into the picture of the MRC Network – we are hoping that 100% of the MRC units will participate!

Stay up-to-date with MRC unit activities nationwide by signing up for MRC In Touch and MRC In Focus. MRC In Focus is a resource to help link MRC units, partners, and communities and serves as a conduit for information about what the MRC is doing at the national, regional, state, and local levels. Each issue features stories about MRC units and volunteer activities, updates from the Division of the Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps, resources, upcoming events, and training opportunities.

MRC In Touch is designed as a complement to MRC In Focus. Each edition features unit activities, tips, announcements, and a calendar of events. All volunteers are eligible to sign up to receive the monthly e-newsletter via the MRC one-way and two-way ListServs.

NACCHO and the Division of Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps are pleased to announce the new MRC Seasonal Leadership and Training Summits for 2012-2013. Each of the 3-day summits are designed to maximize this training opportunity for the entire MRC network through a common platform of instruction and activities that are timely and relevant to unit leaders. The agenda will serve as a consistent foundation across all three summits and will include a selection of training workshops, break-out sessions, and opportunities for leadership discussions. Participants will also have the added benefit of networking with unit leaders from around the country.
