The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a community-based, civilian volunteer program that helps build the public health infrastructure of communities nationwide. Each MRC unit is organized and trained to address a wide range of challenges from public health education to disaster response.

NACCHO is pleased to release the 2013 Network Profile of the Medical Reserve Corps report! The 2013 Network Profile study provides a comprehensive look at MRC unit composition, administration, and community impact. These data were collected from a survey administered in April and May 2013. A total of 837 units responded to the survey for an outstanding response rate of 87 percent. View the report or purchase a printed copy in the NACCHO Bookstore. NACCHO is working with Rallyware, a start-up company that has created online platforms to engage networks similar to the MRC, to create the new MRC Connect application. MRC Connect, scheduled to launch in Summer 2014, will offer an event tracking and management system, and will allow users to connect with other unit leaders. More »

NACCHO, in partnership with the Division of the Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps, has selected 29 MRC units to receive MRC Challenge Awards, totaling nearly $600,000. The MRC Challenge Award supports MRC units to develop new projects and programs that can be replicated on a national level. Nearly 200 MRC units from across the United States applied for the award and the top 29 most promising applicants were selected to receive the award. More »
