Project Overview: The Okaloosa County Health Department (OCHD) is located in Northwest Florida and serves both an urban and rural population of 190,000. OCHD focused on improving media communications by developing a comprehensive communications plan that includes a master communications calendar; plans for routine and risk communication; and an electronic database to track media and stakeholder requests and outcomes. As a result of the plan, OCHD is now able to track trends in media requests and better utilize the media to communicate with the public and stakeholders.
