Project Overview: The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (SAMHD) is located in South Central Texas and serves a diverse metropolitan population of nearly 1.5 million residents. SAMHD developed its first departmental strategic plan and aligned it with the standards in the NACCHO Operational Definition of a Local Health Department—the same standards that are providing the framework for the standards in the voluntary national accreditation program.
