Project Overview: The West Allis Health Department (WAHD) is located in Southeastern Wisconsin and serves a population of 65,000. WAHD engaged in a comprehensive quality improvement process to create a new strategic plan, which has laid the foundation for quality improvement and accreditation preparation within the department. WAHD is working to be fully prepared for voluntary national accreditation by 2011.
