NACCHO collaborated with California Newsreel on the 2008 PBS documentary series Unnatural Causes: Is Inequality Making Us Sick?. With the support of the California Endowment, NACCHO has helped over 100 local health departments convene town hall meetings, community dialogues, and other public events to screen the film and discuss actions to tackle health inequity. NACCHO also provides study guides and technical assistance for LHDs using the film internally and externally. NACCHO invites LHDs to join the Health Equity Campaign and convene a screening event, town hall meeting, community dialogue, or training session to share this award-winning series. By becoming a partner, you will receive a free Unnatural Causes DVD as well as resources to help you organize an event at your LHD or in your community.
