Why I enjoy working with NACCHO: I enjoy the policy development and evidence-based promotion of best practices, as well as the opportunity to review, recognize and reward innovative Model Practices impacting the health of women and children. 


About Dr. Cee Ann Davis

Dr. Davis currently serves as Director of Blue Ridge Community Health, a nongovernmental organization providing public health/preventive health services, including program planning, evaluation, grant support, policy review, community coordination, education and advocacy. She received her B.A. and M.D. from U.Va., and her Residency training and M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins University. She is Board Certified both in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYN) and in General Preventive Medicine/Public Health. 

Former positions include Virginia Department of Health District Director, National Health Service Corps Scholar, founding and managing partner of a multi-subspecialty OB-GYN practice. Dr. Davis has held national, state and local leadership and task force positions in organized medicine and community health advocacy. She is currently Chair of the NACCHO Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Workgroup, and represents NACCHO on the ACOG Women’s Preventive Services Initiative (WPSI) Implementation Steering Committee. She has enjoyed many years working as a volunteer in local free medical clinic systems, and teaching and mentoring health sciences students. Research interests include the role of local media in community health literacy, community health needs assessment and community-based participatory research. She recently presented a seminar at the 2017 Annual American College of Preventive Medicine 2017 meeting on building community health through collaboration with non-traditional partners. That monthly public Community Health Forum Series is archived and available publicly online.
