Hepatitis C Public Health Detailing Kit
Overview
NACCHO’s Hepatitis C Public Health Detailing Kit is a collection of tools and resources to support local health departments in implementing public health detailing as a strategy to increase healthcare provider awareness and uptake of effective practices for HCV screening, diagnosis, and linkage to care and treatment. Public health detailing is a provider education method that includes visiting local provider sites to deliver brief trainings or presentations and distribute tools and resources to support uptake of best practices and patient education.

Before utilizing the detailing kit materials, users are encouraged to review the User’s Guide, which provides an overview of public health detailing and descriptions of each resource in the Detailing Kit and its intended use.

These tools can be used by local health departments to educate healthcare providers on the epidemiologic profile of HCV nationally and locally, testing and treatment recommendations and guidelines, and what they can do to increase HCV testing, diagnosis, and linkage to care for treatment for their patients.
These materials are directed to healthcare providers, and address screening, counseling, harm reduction, and treatment. They can be included in a health department’s packet of leave-behind materials given to providers for their review and reference.

Additionally, they include information and data that can be incorporated into health department-developed leave-behind materials.
